A quick video on how to do the half-hitch knot!
Our standard Vitalitrees come with their drawstring tops for extra protection when required. If you know Jack Frost is on his way, or some gusts are coming through, we recommend hitching your Vitalitree hoods to keep your trees extra snug and secure.
However, it’s very important to tie the drawstring correctly to ensure your hood won’t slip down the bamboo stake! So here’s a quick video tutorial to help you out and show you how to tie the ‘half hitch’ this is the best knot we’ve found for these hoods.
Watch the video above for a chat-through tutorial with Paul on how to tie this super simple half hitch!
Tip! If you notice that your half hitch is still slipping slightly, it may be because your bamboo stake is too smooth, and the tie is having trouble gripping. To solve, rough up the sides of the bamboo stake with some sandpaper to add extra grip.
